Mi matrimonio Hindu ( My Hindu wedding)

I am back. For now, I will just write about my Hindu wedding, in the next coming days I will publish about our exciting experiences in India.

The Hindu wedding in Kerala (wedding traditions change according to the place in India) usually last 2-3 days.

Day 1: The bride and the groom have each separate dinner receptions in their houses with relatives and friends. At the same time the groom's sisters and groom's closest woman relatives go to the bride's house and give her presents. The gifts are the wedding dress, the jewelry she would wear that day and all the accessories. In our case, Mithun had a reception, but I did not since I do not know anyone in Kerala. However, the women came to visit me at the hotel and gave me the presents.

Dia 2.

Day 2: It's the day of the ceremony. The ceremony has a few rituals: the bride's father gives away the bride, exchange of rings, necklaces and flowers, bride and groom feed each other, they both walk around the altar, and they are blessed by everyone. Once they are married, the wife is taken to the husband's house where there is a welcome ritual for the wife to the husband's house and family.

Dia 3. La gente generalmente come y habla.

Day 3: It's is the reception day (sometimes is on the same day of the ceremony as it was in our case). People usually eat and talk. It is not tradition to dance as it happens in the North of India.
